Creative expression has always been an important part of Nancy Fraser’s life. A serendipitous introduction over 40 years ago provided her the opportunity to live in a 500 year old farmhouse in Tuscany and experience the joy of working with clay.
Although painting and photography filled the creative space in her life for many years, she always knew she was meant to return to pottery. The building of the Cedar Hill Centre for the Arts provided that opportunity. Functional and decorative pottery, one-of a-kind, thrown & altered forms and hand built pieces all form part of her work.
Nancy’s pottery is rustic and embodies the concept of wabi sabi – each piece is unique due to the differences. Perfection in replication is not the goal in her handmade work.
